Browsing the site

• No account, no login, no advertising trackers.
• Searching sends what you typed to our server, because that is where the catalogue lives and there is no way to search it from your device alone. We keep a record of the words and how many results they returned — see below.
• Nothing we keep is attached to you. No account, no stored IP address, nothing that ties two searches together — we don't save anything to your identity because we don't have one for you. PostHog is the exception, and only if you agree to it: see below.
• If you use Near me, your location is read by your browser and used on your device to sort results by distance. It is never sent to us and never stored.
• Map tiles are served by OpenStreetMap, which will see your IP address as part of loading them.

What we do collect

Being straight about this matters more than sounding clean:

• If you list an activity, we store what you type into that form, including the email address you give us, so we can reply and check the listing.
• If you report a problem with a listing, we store your note. Please don't include personal details in it — we only need to know what's wrong.
• The words you search for, along with how many results came back and which filters were on. We read this to find searches that returned nothing — usually it means we're missing a place, or we call it something you wouldn't. Each record is just the words, the count and the time: no IP address, no identifier, nothing that connects one search to the next or to you. If something that looks like an email address or a phone number is typed into the box, it is replaced before the search is recorded.
• Search requests are rate-limited using your IP address, held briefly in memory to stop automated abuse. It isn't written to our database or tied to your searches.
• Which pages get visited, counted by Vercel Web Analytics: the page, the rough referrer and the country. No cookie, no advertising identifier, nothing that follows you to another site.
• Which buttons get used — quick picks, opening a listing, following a link to a venue, and which filters people reach for. We keep the name of the thing tapped and the time, and nothing else. There is no identifier, so these are counts and never a trail: we can see that forty people opened a listing, and never that one person did four things in a row. We record this ourselves rather than sending it to an analytics company.
• Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, as any website does.

Analytics

Most of it is ours. Searches and button taps are recorded in our own database, not sent to an analytics company, and stored without anything that would connect them to you or to each other. Vercel Web Analytics counts page visits at our host's edge. Neither uses cookies, and both work whatever you choose below.

PostHog is the one that needs asking. It uses cookies to recognise a returning browser, which lets us see journeys through the site rather than only totals — how many people who searched went on to open a listing. That is the one thing our own counting cannot do, because it deliberately stores nothing linking two actions together.

PostHog also records session replays: a reconstruction of how a page was used, so we can see where something is confusing rather than guess. Everything you type is masked before it leaves your browser — the replay shows that a box was filled in, never what was put in it. That covers the search box and every field on the listing form. Replays are stored by PostHog in the United States.

So it is off until you say yes. Nothing is written before you answer the banner, both answers are one tap, and the site works identically either way — declining costs you nothing. If you say yes and change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser and you will be asked again; saying no then also deletes the cookies the earlier yes created and stops PostHog recording. We run no advertising tags of any kind. Google Analytics ran here until 16 August 2026 and was removed; if you accepted it before then, saying no now also clears the cookies it left.

About the listings themselves

Most listings come from public sources such as OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps, and we mark those as basic listings because nobody on our team has checked them. Details like prices and opening hours may be out of date — please confirm with the venue before you travel.
